Struggling with wrist pain from your home office setup? Your mouse might be the culprit
Published: February 22, 2026
After switching to remote work, I noticed my wrist was killing me by end of day. Turns out my old mouse was the problem.
Key things I learned when choosing a wireless mouse for WFH:
• Ergonomics matter more than features - A vertical or contoured design can prevent repetitive strain injuries. Your hand should feel natural, not cramped.
• DPI isn't everything - Higher DPI sounds fancy, but 1000-1600 DPI is perfect for most office work. Going higher just makes the cursor jumpy.
• Battery life vs connectivity - Bluetooth is convenient but can lag during video calls. 2.4GHz dongles are more reliable for work tasks.
Bonus tip: Test the mouse size against your hand. Too small = claw grip strain. Too large = awkward reaching.
TL;DR: Prioritize ergonomics and reliable connectivity over flashy specs. Your wrists will thank you after those long Zoom days.
Anyone else discover their mouse was sabotaging their productivity?
