Saved my burnt non-stick pan with these simple steps - thought I'd have to throw it away!
Published: February 22, 2026
Just rescued a pan I thought was completely ruined. Here's what actually worked:
• Baking soda paste method: Mix baking soda with water, let it sit for 15 minutes, then gently scrub with a soft sponge. The burnt residue came right off without damaging the coating.
• White vinegar trick: For stubborn spots, heat equal parts water and white vinegar in the pan for 2-3 minutes. The acid helps break down the burnt material.
• Prevention tip: Always let your pan cool completely before washing. Temperature shock can damage the non-stick surface and make burning more likely.
Tried the dish soap and warm water soak first (didn't work), but the baking soda method was a game-changer. Pan looks almost new now!
TL;DR: Baking soda paste + gentle scrubbing can revive most burnt non-stick pans. Don't give up and buy new ones right away - this method saved me $40.
