Key things I learned when choosing a monitor for video editing (after testing 12+ displays)

Spent months researching monitors for my home editing setup. Here's what actually matters:

Color accuracy beats size every time. A 27" monitor with 99% sRGB will serve you better than a 32" with poor color reproduction. Your clients will thank you.

Don't skimp on panel type. IPS panels cost more but the viewing angles and color consistency are crucial when you're spending 8+ hours editing. TN panels might be cheaper but you'll regret it.

4K isn't always necessary. Unless you're editing 4K content regularly, a good 1440p monitor with excellent color accuracy will be more practical and easier on your GPU.

Bonus tip: Get a monitor with multiple inputs. Being able to switch between your editing rig and client laptop without unplugging cables is a game-changer.

TL;DR: Prioritize color accuracy and IPS panels over size and resolution. Your editing quality will improve more from better colors than more pixels.
